Mathad, Sr. Vice President of R&D and PSDL at MSN Laboratories, India, reviews Thermal Analysis techniques such as Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) and Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC), which are proven and important tools for understanding the physiochemical properties of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in the pharmaceutical industry. The basics of TGA and DSC are discussed as well as several applications uses for the tools, and case studies collected from Dr. Mathad’s lab.
