Polymer Inclusion Membranes (PIMs) - Green Technology for the Separation of Chemical Species

Introduction

Ines Almeida, Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, provides a presentation of her work using polymer inclusion membranes (PIMs) for the separation of chemical species. This green technology has the potential to be an environmentally friendly alternative to widely used solvent extraction methods. Ms. Almeida’s work validates the use of PIMs for the extraction/transport of metal ions and organic compounds, as well as in chemical analysis.
