Professor Denise Mitrano of ETHZurich provides an overview of her recent research on the effectiveness of technical water systems such as wastewater and drinking water treatment plants at removing nanoplastics and microplastics from water. This talk, part of PerkinElmer’s Global Environmental Sciences Summit, highlights the challenges of detecting nano- and microplastics, the difficulties in removing them through typical water treatment or purification processes and alternative treatment options to address the removal of nanoplastic pollution.
