Determination of Urea Content in Fertilizers by HPLC

A talk from the Chemicals Summit - Agrochemical Symposium

Due to its high nitrogen content, Urea is the most important source of nitrogen for agricultural fertilizers and accounts for 50% of all nitrogen based fertilizers. Accurate determination of urea is important for regulatory and product quality purposes. In this presentation, Jamie Foss, Sr. Application Scientist at PerkinElmer presents the determination of urea content in fertilizers by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) in accordance with ISO 19746. An overview of the analytical scope and methodology is presented along with practical examples.
