Airborne Microplastics in Urban, Tropical and Free Tropospheric Atmospheres

Introduction

Dr. Hiroshi Okochi of Waseda University presents his latest research on the detection of airborne microplastics (AMPs) in urban, tropical and free tropospheric atmospheres. One of the biggest challenges in this work is to improve the instrumentation and analytical procedures for the identification and quantification of AMPs. Dr. Okochi describes a new operating protocol for sampling and pretreatment of AMPs and demonstrates its effectiveness on urban, tropical, and free tropospheric air samples.
