Shelton, CT, July 13, 2026 – PerkinElmer, a global leader in analytical and testing solutions and pharma specialty services, serving the life sciences, applied and industrial, and food markets, today released its second annual Sustainability Report, detailing the company's environmental, social, and governance performance and progress in 2025. This second report marks a pivotal year for PerkinElmer's sustainability program, three years into its journey as a standalone business.
Key highlights from the report include:
- Validated science-based targets: In May 2025, PerkinElmer's near-term emissions reduction targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), committing the company to reduce absolute Scope 1 emissions 58.8% by 2034, source 100% renewable electricity by 2030, and cut Scope 3 emissions 63.8% per USD value added by 2034 (all from a 2023 base year).
- Improved external recognition: PerkinElmer's EcoVadis score rose 25% in 2025.
- Independent assurance: For the first time, PerkinElmer introduced external limited assurance over its Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions data, in line with ISAE 3000 (Revised) Standard, reinforcing the rigor and reliability of its reported emissions.
- Renewable energy progress: The company achieved 73% renewable purchased electricity globally in 2025, advancing toward its 2030 target, through a renewable energy strategy focused on the US, Singapore, Malaysia, China, and the UK.
- Sustainable procurement momentum: Suppliers representing 75% of PerkinElmer's spend were informed of its environmental requirements, and 51% were actively engaged through meetings or its environmental survey.
- Continued global commitments: PerkinElmer reaffirmed its membership in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), upholding its ten principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.
The report also details PerkinElmer's approach to delivering more sustainable products and services, including its OneSource lab management offering, efforts to decarbonize its supply chain and freight network, and its ongoing commitment to associates’ health, safety, and human rights across its value chain.
“For nearly 90 years, PerkinElmer has been at the forefront of scientific innovation, and today that heritage carries a deeper purpose: enabling the science of our customers around the world to build a healthier, safer, and more sustainable future,” said Michael Stubblefield, Chief Executive Officer of PerkinElmer. “Sustainability is a global challenge that no single company or nation can solve alone, but it is one we are deeply committed to, and we are proud to be playing our part.”
