Kahen returns to PerkinElmer with more than 20 years of experience across the life sciences and analytical technologies industries.
Shelton, CT, November 2, 2026 – PerkinElmer, a global leader in analytical and testing solutions and pharma specialty services, today announced that Dr. Kaveh Kahen has been appointed President of its Analytical & Testing Solutions (ATS) business.
Kahen returns to PerkinElmer with more than 20 years of global leadership experience across life sciences and analytical technologies, including as President of Danaher’s Abcam and Phenomenex businesses. Most recently, at Abcam, he oversaw the deployment of a unified digital platform across its global sites, building the data foundation for AI-enabled antibody development. Previously, at Phenomenex, he led the business through a period of renewed growth while accelerating new product development and digital modernization.

Kahen will lead ATS with a focus on accelerating new product development, embedding AI and digital capabilities into laboratory workflows, and strengthening service and support across the instrument lifecycle. His appointment comes after a standout year of innovation at ATS, including the introduction of the Avio® 3000 ICP-OES, the re-engineered Clarus® Nova GC and Spotlight™ Aurora-I FTIR microscope, alongside the development of LabPilot™, a connected platform bringing PerkinElmer instruments, software and services together in one environment.

Kahen’s deep experience in analytical technologies spans scientific R&D, portfolio development and corporate M&A. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Advion Interchim Scientific and as Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sigma Analytical Services. Earlier in his career, Kahen spent eight years at PerkinElmer, including as Senior Director of Global R&D and Vice President and General Manager of its mass spectrometry business. He holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from The George Washington University and is named as an inventor of 10 U.S. patents, including technologies still used in PerkinElmer’s ICP-MS instruments.
