Solus Pathogen Detection System

Fast paced food testing environments need pathogen detection solutions that can produce results at an equally, if not faster, pace.

We designed and developed our Solus Pathogen Detection System with this type of environment in mind. Our complete workflow is fully automated for pathogen detection and includes everything from culture media to test kits. A complete solution is comprised of:

  • Over ten individual ELISA assay kits that detect Salmonella, Listeria species and E. coli O157 and provide next day results with the Solus One range of products
  • The Solus DS2 Automated Laboratory ELISA, a single unit that can process up to 192 samples at the same time

Solus ELISA Kits

The cornerstone of our pathogen detection system is our selection of assay kits, based on enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Developed and manufactured by PerkinElmer specifically for the food safety testing environment. Utilising proprietary antibodies and production methods which have been optimised to deliver excellent performance. Post selective enrichment our immunoassay delivers negative or presumptive positive results within two hours.

Immunoassay kits are available for detection of Salmonella, Listeria species and E. coli O157 in 96 and 480 well formats. Our rapid result range, Solus One, includes kits for the next day detection of Salmonella or Listeria.

Solus Automation

As a self contained unit the Solus DS2 Automated Laboratory ELISA can process 186 samples (plus controls). The DS2 has a small footprint and fits discretely into any lab environment. The software takes the user through the procedure one step at a time, with on-screen instructions guiding them through from loading of samples to seeing test results.

All our assays can be fully automated, meaning you can walk away from the test once it is set up.

The DS2 enables increased traceability and security, allowing barcode sample ID entry and electronic transfer of results to LIMS.

Solus Media & Consumables

We recommend our dedicated media which has been shown over time to perform consistently and reliably with our pathogen ELISA tests.

Good, consistent quality is important for the sensitive detection of target organisms and also the control of false positive results due to overgrowth of any background flora.

Solus dedicated media is available for our entire pathogen testing range in a number of convenient formats.
