The 50 mm VATR Crystal is an optional configuration for the Classic VATR Accessory. This crystal is made of thallium bromide (KRS-5) and is shaped as a 45° parallelgram with the following dimensions: 50 mm long, 10 mm wide, and 3 mm thick. This crystal requires, but does not include, the VATR Crystal Clamp and Holder for 50 mm crystals (L1272443).

The Variable Angle ATR (VATR) Accessory has a vertically-mounted ATR crystal and an optical layout based on an optimized Gilby configuration. This allows for continuous adjustment of the incident beam angle between 30-60°. Its unique mirror mechanism allows for precise and repeatable alignment. This high throughput accessory requires a VATR Crystal Clamp and Holder for 25 mm crystal options (L1272386) and for 50 mm crystal options (L1272443). This accessory is compatible with Spectrum 3/Frontier spectrometers.
