Analysis of PAHs in Marine Plastic Debris from North Atlantic Gyre by UHPLC and Fluorescence Detection


This study was to measure the levels of PAHs concentrated on the surface of microplastic particles in order to begin to understand the risk to the marine biological ecosystem. This work demonstrates the fast, effective chromatographic separation of 15 polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) for reduced run times and improved sensitivity giving researchers faster and better insights into the impact of microplastics testing.
