The Ultrasonic Nebulizer uses mechanical forces from an oscillating transducer to break a liquid sample stream into very small droplets with a relatively uniform droplet size. Because the formation of this fine aerosol is so efficient, a desolvation system consisting of a heated tube and a condenser is placed after the nebulization chamber to remove most of the water.
The U6000AT+ adds a third desolvation stage (membrane desolvation) which effectively removes water vapor from the aerosol stream. This eliminates the principal source of oxygen and hydrogen from the ICP improving detection limits for elements such as Ca, Fe, and K.
The U6000AT+ allows direct analysis of organic solvents (both polar and non-polar types) by ICP-OES. Without the U6000AT+, organic solvents would cool the plasma, producing green C2+ molecular band emission. When the U6000AT+ is used, the "green tongue" is eliminated. This efficient desolvation system produces a robust plasma with minimal spectral interferences.
Includes on ultrasonic nebulizer with Peltier cooling system and US power cord.
