Rapid Strip Test for Beta-lactam and Tetracycline Antibotic Residues in Milk
The AuroFlow™ PR1ME™ BT Combo MRL Assay is a qualitative and rapid lateral flow assay designed for the detection of a broad range of antibiotics in raw, commingled cow's milk. These rapid tests detect 17 beta-lactams plus metabolites and 3 tetracyclines below EU MRL requirements in a one-step process. The fast, simplified protocol can be seen in the next tab. Results of the test can be interpreted visually. If any test line on the strip is less intense than the control line, the sample is positive for that antibiotic.
Beta-lactam antibiotics are a class of broad-spectrum antibiotics, consisting of all antibiotic agents that contain a beta-lactam ring in their molecular structures. This includes penicillin derivatives (penams), cephalosporins (cephems), monobactams, and carbapenems. Most beta-lactam antibiotics work by inhibiting cell wall biosynthesis in the bacterial organism, and they are the most widely used group of antibiotics. Tetracycline is also a broad spectrum antibiotic frequently employed in dairy cow production.
This kit is manufactured to the international quality standard ISO 9001.

Strip tests detect the most commonly used antibiotics found in cow’s milk. These AuroFlow tests are fast and easy-to-use in a laboratory or in the field, without requiring any additional equipment. In fact, milk can be directly introduced to a sample tube in the new AuroFlow PR1ME kits – the mixing step having been eliminated – and the test strip inserted immediately for results within minutes. PerkinElmer’s test strips are manufactured to test for European Union and CODEX maximum residue limits (MRL). PerkinElmer offers solutions for the detection of a multitude of drug residues, pasteurization verification, and Aflatoxin M1 by other methods such as ELISA based testing.
