This MaxSignal 3-in-1 Immunoaffinity Column can simultaneously extract four types of Aflatoxins (B1, B2, G1, G2), Zearalenone (ZEN) and Deoxynivalenol (DON) from various sample types and has a highly targeted purification effect on these three types of toxins. Samples that pass through the column for purification can be used for HPLC or LC-MS/MS analysis after concentrating with nitrogen gas.
Aflatoxins are highly carcinogenic, toxic secondary metabolites from a class of fungi (such as Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus). Zearalenone (ZEN), also known as F-2 toxin, mainly pollutes crops such as corn, wheat, and grains. It has a strong estrogenic effect and can cause hyperestrogenism, as well as severe reproductive tract symptoms and infertility, and is also immunotoxic and genotoxic. Deoxynivalenol (DON) also known as Vomitoxin, belongs to the trichothecene family. Vomitoxin is mostly distributed in grain seeds such as wheat, barley, and corn, and its concentration is usually in the range of mg/kg. Due to its high cytotoxicity and immunosuppressive properties, it poses a health threat to both humans and animals.
The basis of the IAC measurement is the antigen-antibody interaction. All four main toxin antibodies are embedded throughout the column. After a sample is extracted and filtered, it is slowly passed through the IAC. The toxins bind to their corresponding antibody in the column. The IAC is then washed to remove unbound substances. The toxins are then eluted with the eluent, concentrated using nitrogen gas, then injected into an analytical instrument for detection. Affinity columns can be used in combination with HPLC and LC-MSMS to achieve rapid testing, and to increase signal-to-noise ratio and improve the accuracy of the detection method.
This kit is manufactured to the international quality standard ISO 9001.
