WAY-100635 acts as an antagonist at 5-HT1A receptors, and as an agonist at dopamine D4 receptors. The serotonin 5-HT1A receptors belong to a group of GPCRs that are involved in neuromodulation, and are potential drug targets for anxiety and depression. Dopamine D4 receptors are part of a group of GPCRs that are potential drug targets for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and Parkinson disease.
