Overview

PerkinElmer has vast experience in the development, functionalization, and production of magnetic particles based on polyvinyl alcohol known as M-PVA Magnetic Beads due to its unique chemagen technology.

The Streptavidin (SAV) is immobilized covalently on the surface of superparamagnetic polyvinylalcohol beads, known as M-PVA Magnetic Beads. The high magnetite content enables a fast magnetic separation, even from large sample volumes. The micrometer-sized beads present a high active surface per volume and allow efficient adaptation to specific applications. Due to the hydrophilic nature of the polyvinylalcohol matrix, unspecific binding properties are reduced to a minimum. The mechanical robustness of allows different kinds of processing and facilitates automated use. The ready to use M-PVA Magnetic Beads SAV1 are the ideal solution for capturing of biotinylated target molecules.

M-PVA Magnetic Beads SAV1 are commonly used for the isolation and handling of nucleic acids (DNA/RNA) and biotinylated ligands and targets, including antigens and antibodies.

  • > 50 pmol biotinylated protein, at least 400 pmol biotinylated oligonucleotide or 600 pmol free biotin per 40 μl M-PVA SAV1 respectively
