Overview

Guanosine-5'-triphosphate (GTP) is a purine nucleotide. It can act as a substrate for the synthesis of RNA during the transcription process. It also has the role of a source of energy or an activator of substrates in metabolic reactions, like that of ATP, but more specific. It is used as a source of energy for protein synthesis. GTP is essential to signal transduction.

1mCi quantities of [8-3H]-GTP are available for your research.  Application of [3H]GTP can be found in:  mitochondrial uncoupling proteins in vitro and in vivo in membrane transport biophysics, stimulation of hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis activity (interaction with serotonergic systems) in neuropharmacology, factors affecting platelet cyclic GMP levels during aggregation induced by collagen and by arachidonic acid
