This fluorescein labeled analog of cytidine triphosphate (CTP) is used for labeling RNA probes via in vitro transcription with various RNA polymerases. Fluorescein labeled RNA probes are used in a variety of molecular biology applications including in situ hybridization and gene expression microarrays. Labeled products may be detected directly via fluorescence or indirectly by combining with anti-fluorescein HRP or AP conjugates.
The number “12” in the compound name refers to the length of the linker arm between CTP and the label.
