The AlphaPlex Samarium (Sm) Human Interferon Gamma-induced Protein 10 (hIP10) Detection Kit is designed for the quantitative determination of human IP10 in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants using a homogeneous (no wash steps, no separation steps) assay.
This kit contains enough reagents to run 100 wells in 96-well format, using a 100 µL reaction volume (10 µL of sample). Protocol can be found on the Certificate of Analysis.
AlphaPlex technology allows the detection of molecules of interest in a no-wash, highly sensitive, quantitative multiplexing assay. In an AlphaPlex assay, a biotinylated anti-analyte antibody binds to the Streptavidin-coated Donor beads while another anti-analyte antibody is conjugated to AlphaPlex Acceptor beads. In the presence of the analyte, the beads come into close proximity. The excitation of the Donor beads causes the release of singlet oxygen molecules that triggers a cascade of energy transfer in the Acceptor beads, resulting in a sharp peak of light emission at 645 nm.
AlphaPlex reagents are intended for use in conjunction with AlphaLISA reagents in multiplexing assays.

The introduction of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) in the early 1970’s offered researchers a non-radiometric immunoassay platform without compromising sensitivity. Over the last 50 years scientists have made huge strides in disease research and drug discovery and a demand for greater assay throughput and sensitivity has evolved. In response, more robust immunoassays have been developed to address some of the limitations of the standard, colorimetric ELISA.
Find out about the most common limitations of traditional ELISAs and how different ELISA alternative technologies address these limitations.
This application note describes how AlphaPlex reagents from PerkinElmer can be used to simultaneously detect IL-6 and IL-8 secretion by cell lines.
The balance of glucagon and insulin levels within the body is an important indicator of the function of metabolism. Healthy metabolic function is characterized by elevated levels of one of these hormones and lowered levels of the other. Simultaneous high levels generally indicate hyperglycemia or type 2 diabetes, while simultaneous low levels indicate type 1 diabetes or starvation.
When testing for metabolic diseases it is important to obtain information on the level of glucagon and insulin relative to each other. Ideally this is done by quantifying the levels of both hormones from a single sample. AlphaPlex™ utilizes a homogenous bead-based platform for multiplexing, allowing for the quantification of multiple analytes simultaneously.
See how AlphaPlex offers a complete assay for all-in-one-well measurement of both insulin and glucagon in biological samples.
