Better than Watching Paint Dry: Time-Resolved FTIR Studies of Adhesive and Paints

The chemistry of CASE chemicals categories like paints, coatings and adhesives, is a dynamic process whereby the curing or drying processes are continuous after application. FTIR can be used to monitor the material changes over time and offers information about the chemistry involved. In addition, hyphenating the FTIR to thermal analysis allows for the observation of material changes as the samples are heated, measuring gases and vapors evolved at elevated temperatures. In this mini webinar, examples are demonstrated using the FTIR with time-resolved software to extract useful information from the experiments.
