The LabChip® DS is the first μL microplate reader giving full spectrum scans of 96 samples in less than 6 minutes. The combination of the patented DropSense 96 and DropPlate 16/96 provides a sensitive tool which can measure up to 96 samples simultaneously from a sample volume as low as 1 μl (single measurements). This technology is compatible with all microplate pipettes, liquid handling devices and robots. The unique patent pending optical spectrometer design combines cylindrical lenses with integrated optical elements, high resolution gratings and an ultrasensitive photodiode array. The resulting combination of small droplet sized volume requirements and high precision make the LabChip DS the perfect choice for total sample quantification of both nucleic acids and proteins.
The LabChip DS complements PerkinElmer's existing LabChip GX and LabChip GXII which provides fluorescent, electrophoretic analysis of fragments of nucleic acids and proteins. In addition, preparation of samples for the LabChip DS platform can be performed on PerkinElmer's liquid handling instruments, including the Sciclone G3® NGS Workstation, which is a robust, scalable platform that has been specifically customized for next generation sequencing methods, or PerkinElmer's Zephyr G3® Molecular Biology Workstation, which automates a broad range of standard molecular biology kits.
