Imipramine (Tofranil) is an anticholinergic tricyclic antidepressant (TCA), and acts as an antagonist at muscarinic acetylcholine receptors. It also has been shown to inhibit serotonin reuptake, norepinephrine reuptake, and to block dopamine D2 receptors.
