The InSphero GravityTRAP™ Ultra-Low Attachment (ULA) microplate represents a simple, flexible, and automation-compatible platform for the generation, long-term cultivation, observation and testing of scaffold-free 3D microtissue spheroids in 96-well format. Each plate consists of a special non-adhesively coated 96-well sterile-packaged GravityTRAP™ (Tissue Re-aggregation and Assay Plate), and lid.

Many U-bottom ULA plates exhibit common problems such as poor spheroid formation, loss of spheroids during medium exchange, and difficulties imaging through curved plastic. GravityTrap™ ULA plates overcome these issues through the use of a SureXchange™ tapered ledge that facilitates easy medium exchange and prevents microtissue loss, an ultra-low attachment (ULA) coating to promote scaffold-free self-assembly, and a flat bottom observation chamber that enables brightfield microscopy applications and size measurements.
The GravityTRAP™ ULA Plate format is compatible with a broad variety of applications and allows for measurements with a multiwell plate reader or for visual inspection of microtissues by an inverted microscope (similar to analysis of standard 2D cultures):
