Glusulase II is a preparation of the intestinal juice of snails. It is a slightly viscous (gel-free) liquid. It contains a mixture of enzymes including ß-glucuronidase and sulfatase. The activities of these enzymes have proven particularly useful for breaking open yeast cell walls and for hydrolysis of glucuronides and sulfates such as occur in conjugated steroids.
