Three vial options now available for Lu-177.

May 1, 2009 -- In direct response to user requests and unique application needs, we have added more vial options for 177Lutetium and 111Indium. As is already the case with 90Yttrium Chloride, you can now choose the shipping vial most suitable to your application when placing your order.

Vial labeling change, Lu-177.

March 1, 2009 -- The pre-printed wording on the 90Yttrium and 177Lutetium vial has changed to:
For laboratory use only.  A research chemical for research and investigational use only.

We felt that this statement more accurately reflects the wide range of applications of our customers. The label change does not reflect a change to the product itself.

Effects of Metals Ions on Incorporation of Y-90 in DOTA-Ligands

In a research collaboration with one of our customers, PerkinElmer investigated the binding competition between individual metal ions and Yttrium-90. In the course of the study, we were able to determine threshold levels for each of seven metal ions, at which each metal impacts the labeling reaction.

The research is a complementary reflection on our manufacturing and quality standards. PerkinElmer’s reproducible Y-90 production methods, established manufacturing facilities, and confirmatory release testing provide customers with confidence that metals contamination in Y-90 shipments will not be a concern.

Studies with Lu-177 are planned for early 2010.

Immunohistochemisty (IHC) detection capabilities improved with Tyramide Signal Amplification Technology (TSATM)

Tyramide Signal Amplification (TSA™) is a patented technology that amplifies signals in standard IHC protocols.

The addition of TSA to your current IHC protocol may reveal localized targets previously undetectable - without loss of resolution and with no increase in background.

The use of TSA may also allow you to reduce the amount of primary antibody, eliminate PCR, and/or perform multi-target detection. TSA methods are compatible with chromogenic and fluorescent detection.

PerkinElmer Demonstrates Unfaltering Commitment to Radiochemicals

PerkinElmer’s recent investment in radiolabeling and bead-based assay technologies furthers our interest in products, infrastructure, and support of technologies for the detection and screening of potential new drugs.

PerkinElmer purchased the assets of GE Healthcare’s 3H and 14C Catalog Radiochemicals, Scintillation Proximity Assay (SPA) reagents and Cytostar-T plate product lines in September 2009.

Incorporation of these reagents and technologies will strengthen our industry-leading GPCR and Kinase research product lines, and complement our HTS and Research Reagent solutions.

This purchase reinforces PerkinElmer's continued position as the leading company in HTS radiochemicals and related instruments, as we remain committed to supporting critical radiochemicals-based research.
