Drug Discovery Screening Reagents

OF

Drug discovery is a complex, costly and time-consuming undertaking. For research scientists, screening potential candidates is where the journey begins.

Your job is to move from target to hit to candidate quickly and efficiently – with as little wasted resources as possible. Our drug discovery screening reagents do just that. Whether you are doing high throughput screening or focused screening, we offer a wide range of validated reagents and kits in Alpha chemiluminescent, LANCE® TR-FRET, DELFIA® TRF, and other assay technologies to suit you screening assay needs.

Accelerate your workflow with our drug discovery screening reagents while getting consistent, accurate and physiologically relevant results.

Alpha Technology

Virtually anything can be measured with Alpha Technology quickly and easily, including enzymes, receptor-ligand interactions, low-affinity interactions, second messenger levels, DNA, RNA, proteins, protein post-translational modifications, protein:protein interactions, peptides, sugars and small molecules.

  • Ease-of-use: homogeneous, no-wash assay, with no separation steps
  • Fast: results in 3 hours for most applications
  • High sensitivity: detect down to femtogram levels of target
  • Large dynamic range: 4-5 logs
  • Compatible with many samples types: serum, plasma, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), tissue extracts, cell culture supernatants, cell lysates, and more

Choose the Alpha solution that’s right for you

  • AlphaLISA® – when running large numbers of ELISA from the same sample or working with difficult matrix, serum or plasma
  • AlphaLISA SureFire® Ultra and AlphaScreen® SureFire – an excellent choice for studying pathways or phosphorylated proteins in whole cells, or studying endogenous receptors
  • AlphaPlex – for measuring more than one analyte from the same well, by using the specific wavelengths of Europium, Terbium and Samarium atoms.
  • Alpha SureFire Ultra Multiplex – for measuring two phospho-events or one phospho and a “total” protein control from the same well.
  • AlphaScreen® – perfect for studying fusion-tagged proteins or protein: protein interactions, and for testing cAMP, phosphorylated peptides or samples in a simple matrix. Available as AlphaScreen, AlphaLISA and AlphaPlex products.
  • Alpha Toolbox – when your target doesn’t have an off-the-shelf kit, the toolbox gives you everything you need to create your own. Available as AlphaScreen, AlphaLISA and AlphaPlex products.
  • Alpha Biomarker kits – more than 200 validated and ready to use sandwich immunoassays. Available as AlphaLISA and AlphaPlex products.

LANCE Ultra TR-FRET

From assay development to primary and secondary screening, LANCE Ultra Technology provides researchers with robust and easy-to-use assays adaptable to a variety of targets on a broad range of multimode detectors, with the fastest time-to-results in a commercially-available TR-FRET assay.

  • No-wash/separation steps
  • Homogeneous dispense-and-read technology
  • Sensitive detection
  • High reproducibility
  • Faster time-to-results
  • Easy automation
  • 384-well and 1536-well formats

LANCE and LANCE (LANthanide Chelate Excitation) Ultra are our TR-FRET (time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy transfer), homogeneous (no wash) technologies. One binding partner of interest is labeled with a donor fluorophore (a LANCE Europium chelate) and a second one is labeled with an acceptor fluorophore (ULight™ dye). Upon excitation at 320-340 nm, energy can be transferred from the donor Europium chelate to the acceptor fluorophore if sufficiently close for FRET (~10 nm). This results in the emission of light detectable at 665 nm.

DELFIA

DELFIA (Dissociation-Enhanced Lanthanide Fluorescence Immunoassay) is a proven, robust immunodetection platform based on time-resolved fluorescence (TRF) detection. This detection method, coupled with the unique chemical properties of lanthanide chelates, makes DELFIA a superior alternative to conventional ELISA for research, drug discovery, and clinical applications.

DELFIA offers a combination of high sensitivity, wide dynamic range and long-lasting stability that traditional ELISA cannot match.

Reporter Gene Assays

Whether your assay requires the sensitivity provided by high signal intensity, or the flexibility of an extended signal half-life, PerkinElmer provides a solution. Choose from one of three luciferase detection systems: neolite, britelite plus, or steadylite plus depending on the specific requirements of your experiment.
  • No more washing – just add your lites reagent of choice, mix, incubate, and read
  • Hassle-free storage – all lites reagents are designed for extended storage at 2-8 °C (no -20 °C storage required)
  • Odor-friendly, eliminates hood work – lites products do not contain DTT and do not have the hazards and repugnant odor typical of conventional luciferase detection systems
  • Excellent Z’ values – superior S/B ratios allow for excellent Z’ values in antagonist and agonist studies
ATPlite assay principle
ATPlite assay principle

ATP Quantitation

For fast, reliable detection of ATP for cell quantitation, ATPlite 1step and ATPlite are innovative technologies that measure cell proliferation and cytotoxicity in mammalian cells based on the detection of ATP using firefly luciferase.

ATPlite 1step – Highest sensitivity

  • True “mix and measure” continuous processing
  • Ultra high sensitivity, 3 times more light output than ATPlite
  • Short equilibrium time for faster processing
  • Signal half-life of 30 minutes

ATPlite – Convenient, extended Signal

  • 2-step format, non-separation assay for time course studies; lysate can be stored frozen and tested later
  • Quantitate from <5 cells/well
  • Prolonged equilibrium time for batch processing
  • Signal half-life of 5 hours

  • AlphaLISA immunoassay kits

    Chloramphenicol Biotin-free AlphaLISA Detection Kit

The AlphaLISA® biotin-free immunoassay kit for chloramphenicol enables the quantitative determination of chloramphenicol in buffered solution, milk and cell culture supernatants using a homogeneous AlphaLISA assay (no wash steps). The kit utilizes a Digoxigenin (DIG) / Anti-DIG interaction as opposed to the traditional Streptavidin/Biotin interaction. This enables optimal performance when working with biotin-rich media (e.g. RPMI) or samples containing endogenous biotin.
    Price Range : 446.00 USD - 10500.00 USD
  • AlphaLISA immunoassay kits

    CCL2/MCP1 (mouse/rat) AlphaLISA Detection Kit

The AlphaLISA® Mouse/Rat C-C Motif Chemokine 2/Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein 1 (CCL2/MCP1) Detection Kit is designed for detection and quantitation of mouse or rat CCL2/MCP1 in buffered solution or cell culture medium in a homogeneous (no-wash steps, no separation steps) assay. Mouse CCL2/MCP1 can be quantitatively measured in mouse serum. The analyte in this kit is mouse CCL2/MCP1.
