PAH Analyzer

The new PerkinElmer Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH) HPLC Analyzer is a complete preconfigured system, providing expedited ramp-up and increased uptime for challenging PAH sample analyses that require specific regulated methods.

The recommended U.S. EPA methods for the analysis of PAHs by HPLC are:

• Method 550.1 PAH analysis in drinking water
• Method 610 PAH analysis in waste water
• Method 8310 PAH analysis in ground water and solid waste

All three U.S. EPA methods for PAHs listed above are based on HPLC analysis with UV/Vis and Fluorescence detection.

HPLC analysis offers the following advantages over other techniques:

• Relatively fast analysis times (32 minutes, including equilibration time)
• Separation of PAH isomers (difficult to resolve by GC analysis)
• High sensitivity via Fluorescence detection (pg levels)
• Higher detection selectivity, reducing sample cleanup. Along with the faster analysis times, this results in significantly higher sample throughput

The PerkinElmer PAH HPLC Analyzer includes everything you need to run these challenging analyses: the complete Series 200 HPLC System configuration with UV/Vis and Fluorescence detectors, TotalChrom® CDS instrument-control and data-handling software, the necessary columns, standards and application guidebook.
