Accessories
PerkinElmer’s Flat Panel Detectors (FPDs) are sold as stand-alone devices that work with standard OEM equipment. To maximize performance, we offer additional accessories such as power supplies, data cables, power cables and connectors.
Power Supplies
The XRD EP is the main power supply for most PerkinElmer XRD FPDs and is approved for medical and industrial applications. The enhanced power supply XRD EP is a stand-alone unit that supports 100 V to 240 V at 47 Hz to 66 Hz. An LED display indicates the status of the device. The XRD EP Power Supply is distinguished by its rugged design, versatility, and low ripple- and humming voltage. The output voltages are stabilized across the load using voltage-sensing connections. A wall mounted unit is also available.
Frame Grabbers
For the data connection between the digital FPDs and Computer Systems, PerkinElmer offers the XRD-FG Frame Grabber for a Standard Interface and the XRD-FGX Opto Frame Grabber for a fiber optical Interface. Both provide an excellent “plug & play” solution together with the X-Ray Imaging Software Library package. They provide the advantage of synchronization between the FPD and X-ray source or manipulator by using an external trigger signal or by using the internal trigger function of the frame grabber. Up to four frame grabbers, each using its own detector can be connected to one PC.
The XRD FG Frame Grabber is a custom Frame Grabber board for controlling and acquiring 16 Bit data using the PerkinElmer X-Ray Imaging detector over a copper based interface. The Software library of the XRD-FG provides several pre-image corrections including Multiple Gain Correction.
The XRD FGX Frame Grabber is a custom Frame Grabber board for controlling and acquiring 16 Bit data from FPDs with a glass fiber optical interface. The XRD-FGX provides an FPGA and 256 MB RAM to perform on-board corrections including Multiple Gain Correction at 10 signal levels. The robust glass fiber optical interface provides galvanic isolation between detector and frame grabber and IP68 proofed plugs at the detector side and on both sides of the extension cable.
The Frame Grabber driver and the detector software library (XISL) are delivered as DLLs for Microsoft Windows™ 2000 and Windows™ XP Pro.
