Robert F. Friel

Robert F. Friel is chairman and chief executive officer of PerkinElmer as well as a member of the Board of Directors. He previously served as vice chairman and chief operating officer of the Company, and president of the Life and Analytical Sciences business unit.

Earlier in his tenure at PerkinElmer, Mr. Friel also served as executive vice president and chief financial officer, with responsibilities for business development and information technology in addition to his oversight of the finance function.

Mr. Friel joined PerkinElmer in 1999 and was one of the primary architects of the Company's transformation into a global technology leader focused on improving the health and safety of people and the environment. Prior to joining PerkinElmer, he held several senior management positions at AlliedSignal, Inc., now Honeywell International.

Mr. Friel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Lafayette College and a Master of Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He serves on the boards of directors of CareFusion and the Analytical and Life Science Systems Association (ALSSA), and is a Member of the National Board of Trustees for the March of Dimes. He is a former member of the board of directors at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Fairchild Semiconductor, Inc.
